Focus like a gymnast

The #1 way I get stuff done? Focus on the beam.

Watching the balance beam competitions during the Olympics always amaze me the most. More importantly, how the gymnasts focus on their routine and tune out things like other gymnasts walking around or crowd noise from other events.

In that moment, it's all about the beam.

I find the following three things help me the most to focus on my beam (project, initiative, deadline):

➡️ Phone turned face down and ringer off.

➡️ All windows minimized on computer except the one I'm working in.

➡️ All computer and phone notifications off (visual and audible).

Works for me. What works for you? I'm always eager to hear some other best practices.
